Maritime College Field Renovations

Reinhart Field

MJ was responsible for design services to rehabilitate Reinhart Field at Maritime College. The field is home to the Maritime Privateers soccer, football, and lacrosse teams.

The project included complete replacement of the field and the subbase, along with drainage improvements and site enhancements. MJ conducted an as-built survey, provided oversight of geotechnical investigations, and CCTV inspection of the existing drainpipe. Additionally, MJ provided construction support services. The MJ team paid strict attention to schedule, ensuring that the field was ready for the fall sports season.

Baseball Field Renovation

MJ led the design for the conversion of the natural grass field to a synthetic field surface, as well as lighting, drainage, and NCAA regulation upgrades. New bullpens, batting cages, and fencing was also designed around the outside of the field. MJ provided all land surveying, design, and construction phase services for this project. The new synthetic turf system provides a realistic feel but provides lasting durability for years to come.

Prior to design, MJ led a meeting with campus stakeholders to discuss items which could be procured, playing surface options, lighting and other field options along with initial pricing strategies. During this visit, MJ also completed an assessment of the existing baseball field in comparison with current NCAA standards for regulation baseball fields and presented in a detailed report for SUNY Maritime.

MJ also designed a new running track around the perimeter of the existing football field located next to the baseball field.
